Guardol FE® Engine Teardown Results
Welcome to Lower Visco City, where the proof is in the parts.
These parts were pulled from a 2014 Detroit Diesel DD13. They belong to an Atlanta, Georgiabased fleet operating refrigerated units in coastto- coast service. All oil drains were performed at 45,000 mile intervals using Guardol FE® 10W-30 (FA-4). At the time of this teardown, the odometer was pushing nearly 900,000 miles.
PISTONS
Engines approaching one million miles would typically exhibit varying amounts of medium and heavy carbon deposits in the ring grooves. In this case there is only light carbon and virtually no piston skirt scuffing. Guardol FE 10W-30 protects where it counts.

These parts were pulled from a 2014 PACCAR MX-13 pulling a refrigerated trailer in coast-tocoast service from its base in the southeastern
US. Oil drains were at 45,000 mile intervals using Guardol FE® 10W-30 (FA-4). Tear down was performed in 2017 after quickly accumulating
500,000 miles.
PISTONS
500,000 miles is when many fleets begin considering whether to sell a truck or end a lease. The pistons show very little carbon deposits in the ring grooves and no piston skirt scuffing. Guardol FE 10W-30 provides assurance that your equipment is protected for the long haul.

This 2016 Volvo D13 powered a rig in coast-to-coast operation using a tandem driving team from a Youngstown, Ohio area fleet. Oil drains were at 30,000 miles using Guardol FE® 10W-30 (FA-4), accumulating 762,000 miles at the time of tear down. Performance is notable in that Volvo does not endorse the use of FA-4 oils.
